The 2018 R6 continued the redesigned 2017 generation with its MotoGP-inspired bodywork, traction control, drive modes, quick shifter and R1-derived fork and brakes. It was marketed on the back of the model's World Supersport and MotoAmerica success. Mechanically it was essentially unchanged from the previous year.
